FRAME is a medical research charity committed to replacing the use of animals in scientific experiments that has undergone major restructuring over the past year. As such, we are now seeking a dynamic, innovative individual with a scientific/medical background committed to the aims of the charity who can help us drive engagement and revenue.
The successful applicant will pioneer a program of engagement activities designed to inspire interest, stimulate collaboration, and engage in dialogue with existing and new stakeholders and supporters of FRAME. You will interact with the FRAME Alternatives laboratory and the staff of the FRAME scientific journal ATLA to promote the activities of FRAME via the internet and social media, teleconferences and face to face meetings.
You will be responsible for identifying potential areas of collaborations and funding for the charity and engaging with academia and industry to help identify sources of revenue for FRAME’s activities. You will, where appropriate attend scientific and public conferences and events to present the activities of FRAME and to hear about the latest scientific developments and opportunities that are relevant to FRAME’s aims. The successful applicant will also contribute to the preparation of scientific articles and grant applications on behalf of FRAME.
You will be educated to degree level in a science subject. You will have excellent interpersonal and public- engagement skills and have experience of managing projects and/or events successfully. You will have good communication skills and have experience of fundraising. You will be highly self-motivated, able to work from a home office environment alone and in concert with others, and capable of working with people at all levels of seniority. A postgraduate qualification – in biological or biomedical science/public engagement of science or a related discipline – would be desirable.
