Vivienne Hunter (1955–2010)
Chairman of Trustees Prof Michael Balls has paid tribute to former FRAME staff member Vivienne Hunter, who has died.
WC8 Themes Announced
The themes for the 8th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences have been announced. The subtitle for the 2011 conference will be “The Three Rs – Together it’s Possible”. The hosts, Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC), through their Scientific Programme Committee, have chosen five themes that will run throughout the five-day event.
FRAME Annual Lecture 2010
This year’s FRAME Annual Lecture took place at the Kennel Club in London and the speaker was Dr Kelly BéruBé, Director of the Lung and Particle Research Group at the School of Biosciences, University of Cardiff.

The latest edition of FRAME's scientific journal ATLA (Alternatives to Laboratory Animals) has been issued.

FRAME is pleased that a register is finally being introduced for the cosmetic use of injectable wrinkle treatments – but the controls do not go far enough.
Secondary schools throughout the UK are being given a new CD ROM featuring the science and ethics of animal experimentation. It is designed to act as source material for projects, lessons and discussions in science, English, religious education and other subjects.
