Animal rights and terrorism

FRAME does not condone any form of terrorist activities on the part of individuals or organisations, such as animal rights groups, that threaten the lives or property of those who are either directly or indirectly associated with the use of laboratory animals. 


FRAME is strictly based on scientific principles and believes that the proper and realistic way forward is to develop scientifically justifiable alternative methods, so that the need to use animals in laboratories is obviated completely. 


FRAME believes that the results of some terrorist activities may have led to scientific problems, such as banning cosmetics ingredients testing, or have increased animal welfare problems. Closing breeding establishments in the UK could lead to a need to transport animals from overseas, causing additional distress
