Aims and Scope
ATLA is intended to cover all aspects of the development, validation, assessment and use of alternatives to using animals in biomedical research and toxicity testing.
Submissions types
Contributors are welcome to submit:
Original research articles
Articles that contain original experimental data, describe new techniques or methodologies or which describe ways in which the Three Rs can be better implemented using a new method are subject to peer-review.
Conference and workshop reports
Manuscripts that describe the outcome of national or international meetings or workshops or that summarise the proceedings of conferences are subject to editorial review.
Comment papers
Papers that express opinions about specific scientific issues or that summarise research, legislative or regulatory requirements or animal usage statistics. These papers are subject to editorial review.
ATLA also includes News and Views items and a regular conference diary to increase awareness of news and events of relevance to alternatives research. Authors are invited to submit information or relevance to these sections of the journal.
