The Big Animal Research Debate

You can watch FRAME Trustee and Director of the FRAME Alternatives Laboratory Dr Andrew Bennett in the Big Animal Research Debate live from 7-9pm tonight (October 15) by flowing this link:

Dr Bennett will speak in support of the motion "This House would ban all forms of animal research". He will be backed by student debater Krit Dwivedi, a 4th year medical student, Top 50 European Debating Championships debater and President of the Medic's Debating Society.

Speaking against will be Professor Colin Blakemore, Professor of Neuroscience and Philosophy at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. He will be supported by Tom Jackson, a PhD Medical student, chair of Nottingham University Debating Club and European Debating Championships Semi-Finalist.

The debate is one of a series being held this week around the UK, Republic of Ireland and the USA in a bid to promote greater transparency and foster informed decisions by the public about the use of animals in scientific research.

The event is open to the public and will be held at the Law and Social Sciences Building (LASS) at the University of Nottingham Park Campus from 7-9pm.
