FAL Director to speak at international conference

The International Conference of Alternatives to Animal Experimentation will be held in Portugal on January 26 and 27.

The event is being arranged by the Portuguese Society for Humane Education (SPEdH). It aims to promote debate and information sharing regarding the Three Rs.

Dr Andrew Bennett will discuss the work carried out at the FAL during a session called Animal Experimentation: Past and Future.

The two-day conference, in Almada, will also cover topics such as new directions for Europe, ethics, and the emergence of alternative techniques such as in silico and in vitro methods.

The program will also include keynote sessions by Professor Emeritus Marc Bekoff and Professor Horst Spielmann.
