Comment: FRAME’s Response to an APC Questionnaire on Emerging Biotechnologies and The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986

The Animal Procedures Committee (APC), chaired by The Reverend Professor Michael Banner, has recently reviewed the operation of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. This involved a consultation exercise, and a number of respondents raised concerns about new and emerging biotechnologies and, in particular, embryo manipulation, genetic modification and cloning.
