This is the report of the forty-eighth of a series of workshops organised by the European Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods (ECVAM). The objectives of the workshop were: a) to review the current status of Three Rs (replacement, reduction, refinement) methods for the quality control of inactivated rabies vaccines; and b) to make proposals on the best way forward.
